Vivo Barefoot!

The barefoot revolution is here.  A whole new line of shoes which calls itself Vivo Barefoot is now helping people rediscover the tactile experience of walking barefoot by using a super thin sole.

That’s right–Vivo Barefoot’s sole is so thin that you can roll up your shoes and put them in your pocket.  Your feet are able to read the terrain with the millions of nerve endings in the bottom of your feet.  You can literally feel the ground under your feet which gives you better balance and helps you maintain foot and spinal health.  Professional and amateur athletes have reported enhanced performance in their game because they are much more in tune with their bodies.

Shoes are traditionally very bad for us, trapping our sensitive feet inside hard shells and keeping them from any sensation.  In cultures where shoes are not worn most of the time, foot disease almost unheard of.  It may take a little time to start with, but once you’re used to walking with your body in touch with the planet at all times; you’ll wonder why it took you so long to “go barefoot.”

The Mirdle

413jr8kk2l_ss500_Oh dear.

Oh…my, my, my.

After years of suffering through support hose, girdles, push-up bras, bra inserts, high heeled shoes, and every other uncomfortable fashion innovation known to humankind, we ladies have a reason to sit back and laugh.

May I present…The Mirtle!

In a world full of hot young pop stars, sports gods, and metrosexual talkshow hosts,  many men are starting to feel…well…insecure about that beer gut.  Or, perhaps they just want to look a little more chisled but don’t have time to spend in the gym.

Thanks to the mircle of modern spandex, they can now wear these terribly uncomfortable contraptions all day under their clothes and learn to suffer for beauty in the same way that women have for years.

Of course, the real solution is for everyone to just get real and stop trying to fit themselves into a preconceived, artificial ideal of what is attractive.  But since that’s not going to happen, we can at least rest easy knowing that men are now just as miserable as we are.
